From a beautiful wedding at West Tower.
I recently had the honour of capturing Freya & Dom’s special West Tower Wedding in Ormskirk.
The day was absolutely fantastic, but there was a little moment in the ceremony which I managed to capture. And, unless the registrar glanced towards the best man, I believe I was the only person to witness it.
Freya and Dom are engrossed in their ceremony after Dom has collected Freyas wedding ring from his chosen best man. Ervin, The best man at the wedding, struggled to hold his own emotions in.
For me, this is why this photo is titled ‘the best best man’. Sometimes it’s not about the wildest stag party or indeed an embarrassing speech… The most important thing is that the best man really cares that he is there, cares for the happy couple, and shares the emotions of the grooms day with him.
Being a documentary wedding photographer, this is what it’s all about for me. I love photographs that tell a story but also capture the emotions of a day. I’d love it if, in twenty years time, all of my couples could look through their wedding album and really see how much they mean to their loved ones.
I don’t feel like you get this from standing people in a line and telling them to say cheese… Only from real, raw natural moments like this.
