Wedding Photography at the Old Palace in Chester
For my first time as an Old Palace Chester Photographer, Amy & Elliott’s Wedding was an absolute dream! They looked incredible, their guests were amazing, the best men absolutely ruined Elliot in the speeches and the venue is one of the finest new wedding venues around.

As you will see from the wedding photos above , Amy & Elliott wanted Casual Documentary Wedding Photography for their big day. This is what they received… A set of images that really show the emotions of the day, and that they can cherish for years to come.

I really enjoyed photography at The Old Palace in Chester
Amy and Elliott’s wedding at The Old Palace Chester was a lovely, fun and certainly entertaining day from start to finish! From the lovely bride walking into her ceremony to her (surprise) childhood teddies waiting at the end of the aisle, right through to raving on the dancefloor to songs that took me way back to my own teenage years, I had a smile on my face all day long.
The weather for the wedding in Chester was typically British… A spot of rain, but we didn’t let it interfere with our beautiful day and casual wedding photos.
The venue is a brilliant large ‘old palace’, as the name might suggest! It has been recently refurbished to create a perfect city centre wedding venue in Chester. The standard is simply incredible!
Locations for portrait photography at The Old Palace
As I don’t like to remove my couples from their guests for too long for formal photoshoots or awkward and tacky posed shots, The old palace worked perfectly to just nip for a small walk to get some lovely intimate shots of just the bride and groom in the grounds.
If we would have chosen to walk a little bit further (it was the couples choice to stay on the grounds), then we would be at the lovely riverside in Chester.
We would also be able to shoot some awesome Chester city wedding photos just a few minutes walk away.
Natural and Relaxed photos at The old Palace in Chester
I think one of the highlights from this Old Palace Wedding has to be the speeches. Grooms get mildly embarrassed by their best men on a regular basis… but Elliott’s best men, all three of them, took it to a new level.
Luckily, he took it like a champ! There was also a rather interesting story about how the brides dad met the groom for the first time… involving ‘bunking off school’ and hiding behind shower curtains… but I’ll just leave that one here.
The Old Palace in Chester was a fantastic venue to tell stories with my flavour of Candid Wedding Photography.
If you want candid and fun, relaxed wedding photos… This may just be the place to get them. I may also be the person to capture that relaxed candid wedding photography, just get in touch to hear a little bit more.
